Breezy, 3/4 sleeve manta dress with intricate Mayan embroidery on the chest and sleeves. 44" from shoulder to hem.
The San Andres blouse is named for the region in Chiapas where this type of blouse/pattern was originally made, in San Andres Larrainzar. The pattern is influenced by three Mayan principles: the diamonds represent the universe, earth and sky, a floral symbol which represents the cultivation of the land, and lastly, a toad, bird or snake as representational symbols or patron saints.
Handmade in Chiapas.
This dress is supposed to be a bit blousey, but fits closer to a standard Medium/Large.
