3/4 sleeve chambray blouse with intricate Mayan embroidery on the chest and sleeves.
The San Andres blouse is named for the region in Chiapas where this type of blouse/pattern was originally made, in San Andres Larrainzar. The pattern is influenced by three Mayan principles: the diamonds represent the universe, earth and sky, a floral symbol which represents the cultivation of the land, and lastly, a toad, bird or snake as representational symbols or patron saints.
